Extreme Home Makeover, Madison, Georgia

Anaiah saved her sister's life

Anaiah Rucker and Ty Pennington

The Extreme Home Makeover reality show is building a new home in Madison, Georgia for a local heroine, Anaiah Rucker.  Anaiah is a fifth grader who pushed her sister out of the path of a truck, only to be hit by the truck herself.  Subsequently, she was severely injured and lost a leg.  The project to build Anaiah and her family a new home started on Sunday, July 10, and will be completed this week.  I have just returned from a volunteer stint at the site giving out snacks and beverages to volunteer workers this afternoon.  The Workers Holding Tent in which I worked is sponsored by the Lake Country Board of  Realtors and the Lake Oconee Builders Association.  The sports drinks and water were vital to the workers who braved the 100 degree heat index.  Following are my photos that document the progress on the house as of yesterday,
